Ultima X: Odyssey - Release Date Change

After the announced move from Austin to California, there is no surprise in a delay for Ultima X: Odyssey. Gamestop changed their estimate to the release date from May 25 to September 15. My personal estimate is that UXO won't make it before Christmas.

Yep, it was to be expected
I just hope the remaining team will be able to get things going again.

What do you guys think are the chances of it being cancelled entirely? It certainly doesn't fit into EA's 'a game a year' concept anymore, does it? Handing it over to a mostly new team a few thousand km away doesn't improve the game's outlook either, that's for sure, and EA's already shown it's not too happy with the game in the first place by closing down the Austin Studios - otherwise they'd have waited until after the game's release.

The move probably hasnt anything to do with wether EA likes what they were doing, Ist simply a matter economy; the need to make a profit for your shareholders and cutting as many costs in the process. The timing for a move like this is always bad, so there was no real use in waiting. And we dont know how many teammember are moving along or were already working on aspects of the game from abroad.

I think there _is_ a chance of UXO being canceled, but not a big one. Because of the Ultima lable, combined with the comunity base they have, UXO is one of the strongest players in the field (probably next to Lineage2 and Warhammer).
And the game is almost facing beta. That quite late to cancel. I know it happend before; but maybe because it did it think it wont happen this time.
