| Goblin cave near Grimbald. |

Hi everyone
I came across this cave down by the lake/river just before you reach Grimbald. It looks like a mine with 3 rooms and also goblin camp inside.
The one room is locked with a metal gate. Can that metal gate be open?
I looked all over to find a hidden switch but found nothing.

I used the cheat to get through this gate, but there's nothing (a few steps behind the gate is a collapsed wall). |

I guess the gate were not meant to be open then  I thought there might be some treasure or monster or short cut  |

Do you remember collapsed mine at the begining in the Gothic 1?

Yes...I do remember that collasped mine in the beginning...thats where I opened my very first chest..and my very first weapon..a pick axe ......ahhhhhh those good old memories
I have spoken to Lord Hagen already....but i just don't want to trigger chapt 2 yet...LOL afraid what's awaiting me in chapt 2 still runnin around chapt 1 killin monsters to level up first.
I heard that chapt 2 is pretty hard with the orcs? I am now level 12
str 65 with orc slayer & paladin 2 H. Is that good ehough yet.?
I met one orc elite near Jack's light house and he killed me in 2 swipe  |

lvl12 at the first chap is very good, you have nothing to be afraid of, you will only be needing to start fighting orcs at chap4, and then you'll be swiping orcs in one blast.. |

I have 2 question:
1. Further from the Sun circle...after going down lots of steps I came across a ground littered with abt 20 dead bodies.
There is a cave here with a winch...but I can't open it. It says...I dont have the right item. Is it related to a later quest? Or do I have to look for something to open it?
2. All the stones that I found....aquamarine, glacier quartz, rock crystal, sulfur....is this all to help you make money by selling them or do we need them for later quest?

1. There where many topics about it.. not even one of the people that wrot in these topics got in there.. so the anwer is no... you cant go in there.. too bad tough..
2. thos stons are for creating magic runes so if you are not a mage they are warthless and you can sell tham.. as a mage you le arn how to make a rune than get a blank rune and than you mix it with something in the rune table (it depend on the magic you want to make) i think that to make fireball you need sulfer (cant remember...) |

about the cave with the winch:i managed to go in as a paladin(in chater 4 if i remember correctly).behind the "gate" you find a couple of bottles of wine or something and a letter from someone.the letter tells that this place was used for making schnaps or beer when the barrier was still in place and that the person who wrote the letter was hoping the militia won't be able to find him.

This chast can be opend only if you are a mage, you will recive the key if you will do the snapper claws quet as a mage.. |
