According to the true legend of dragons, they are good creatures. It's rather strange why most people see them as hostile to human. But i suppose there's good and bad dragons, just like everything else.. although I haven't heard of good dragons in Gothic II.
But hell, something we must fight

In most western traditions, dragons is often regarded as symbol of evil, sin or force of destructions. This could be traced to the sacred writings of Hebrews and Christianity. However, in certain mythologies of Greeks and Romans, dragon sometimes also credited with beneficent powers.
In easter world (Oriental countries), especially in China and Japan - dragons far more often described as force of goodness or symbol of beneficent. In Chinese cultural for example, dragons is regarded as sacred creature; and dragon figure always used as royal symbol (use by Kings or nobles in traditional times).

Yeah, and i'm sure the huge dragons & montrous trolls also can't wait to greets you. i think they got tired sharpen up their shiny & sparkling claws.
