Chest in Cave Near Erol

There are 2 chests in the cave near Erol and his caravan wreckage.
One of the chests opens normally with a pick lock, but the other one needs a special key.
Does anyone know where to get this key?
Is it hidden somewhere, or does Erol give it to you when you bring him the stone tablets?

The chest has nothing to do with Erol. You get the key during a quest, a quest which you get in only one of the guilds (forgot which one, but not Paladins).

Right, it is a Mage quest that gets you the key. There's nothing in there for a non-Mage.
