| Anyone play G2 at 300% visuals and have it run well in town? |

I have a p4 1.7 now with a geforce 4 ti4600 with 512mb RDRAM and it runs like crap in town at 300% distance and draw and I keep reading that it is nearly impossible to have it run at 30-40fps in town at 300% view range. I just bought (and am awaiting delivery) of a new p4 3.2 with 1 gig of pc 3200 ddr ram and I'm wondering if anyone has a 3 gig processor or higher and have any luck running at full everything with 30-40fps in town? If not then the rumors of g2 impossible frame rates must be true. Thanks.
BTW... I'm talking about 1600x1200 will all details maxed. |

It is possible, but you need at least 1024 mb ram, a 128mb graphics card, and a P4 2GHz(or similar/better). At least, I think this should do the trick, the ram is the key. |

I have a P4 2.66, 1024Mb PC2700 DDR and an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro; Khorinis runs fine for me. I'm not getting shooter-like 100+ FPS (probably around 30-40 in the city, I would guess) but that's smooth enough for me. |

i have view distance 300% and it laggs in the city but the trick is i watch down on my feet everytime then when i am in town it dosent lagg then  |

Well that is good to hear, with all terrible news coming out of this and other forums I thought that all of us were doomed to playing with crappy fps. I'm sure that PB could have done a bit better job of programing to get more fps but I guess this will do.  |

I got a P4 2.6 OCed to 3Ghz, a gf4Ti4400 OCed the memory speeds on that as well and 512MB 400DDR RAM, runs fine with 300% in the towns. |

When in town hit the F1-4 keys to turn down your view distance/fog effect. This saved me much frustration. |

You can't compare the FPS you get in a game like this, to some cheesy shooter with NO gameworld mechanics or a map thats only 0.5% the size of the G2 map... like Star Trek Elite Farce 2 or something, heh. |

all i do is press F2 in town and F4 out in the wild it works quickly with no hassle. No need to look at the floor now, keep your chin up  |

I have a 3000+ XP on a Nforce2 mobo, with 1024meg PC3700, with a GeForceFX 5900 Ultra (256meg ddr) and it runs perfect. I haven't found any places where it lags at all. I may not be 100FPS, but you can't tell its "lagging" at all. I'm guessing at the lowest 30, but probably between 30-50 at the worst. Is there a way to show frames?

Press "B" (for character stats screen) just type "frate", press B again to close the character screen... and you get fps readout |

Runs quite choppy if 300%... ~20 FPS with P4 2.6, 1GB DDR400 RAM and GF4 ti4400 128MB in the first town. 1280x960 32 bit color. |
