I found this interesting statement by someone who wasn't man enough to leave his email address; in his rating for the Arx Fatalis, which is interesting, since the game is not released in the US yet, so he can't have played it to judge it, he wrote:
"Another wannabe RPG from the Europeans, this time Frenchans.  They can never touch the classic American RPGs."
What do you think? Are the Europeans not able to do a good RPG? Do the Americans have the monopol? |

HiddenX looking at his map  - can't find any "Frenchans" in europe - maybe he means "Frenchman chanting ... " 
Some of my all time favorites are out of europe: Albion, Realms of Arkania 1-3, Ambermoon, Amberstar, Gothic, Ishar 1-3 ...

You know, something, and I can't quite put my finger on what, makes me think that this "journalist" may have been American 
Oh and isn't Frenchans just south of Belgumaina and west of Gerland?

I'll have to admit, some of us ARE pretty stupid! But, I at least believe Europe has given us some great RPG's here in the states. Some other good games have come out of the old USSR also. I don't think it matters where a game is from, just as long as I can read the text, I'm okay!

I think the Eurpean games are in many ways far superior to those from the US, where hype and tripe is the norm. Actually, don't forget some of the better 'US' companies, such as Bioware, are actually Canadian. That is a very big distinction. In this day and age, heaps of countries are turning out great games; we've even had some brilliant ones from down here in OZ. (Freedom Force and Fallout Tactics). Go the Europeans, great games from great countries.

Apparently this guy is blind. The best games to come out in the past year or so have been created in Europe. I'm an American, and I for one love european games. They tend to sneak up on us and when they come out they rock because they don't have a mountain of hype to overcome. I say, keep em comin and I'll keep buyin em and playing them.

I won't say "All A+ Games and All made in Europe", but Europeans definitely produced some very good CRPGs, beside games in other genre such as "The Longest Journey." Whoever said "Another wannabe RPG from the Europeans, this time Frenchans. They can never touch the classic American RPGs" only gave themselves a bad image as arrogent, short sighted...
