How would you know the difference? According to Terry Pratchett (which is perhaps not an authentic source), dwarf women look just like dwarf men.

There are no stories I can remember that have dwarf women as leading characters. Well, actually, I lie.

There's this one appalling one set in the Dragonlance Universe, featuring Tasselhoff, written by Mary Kirchoff I think. It was called Kendermore, and the dwarf woman was the equivalent of a trucker (foul-mouthed and promiscuous).

Tolkien chooses to omit dwarf women altogether.

Since there isn't any official description of any of the fantastical creatures dwarven women could have beards or they might not. Personally, I don't particularly like seeing women with beards, even if they are dwarves.

They look however you want them to look, that's why it's called fantasy.

Dwarven women had beards, according to D&D, in second edition. And several novels based on such.

In third, the majority do not. However, for those wanting 'classic' there exists a small percentage who do.

Personally... it's your gaming experience. Use your imagination as you will.
