I found out a few days ago that our DSL flat rate comes with a free domain name. It´s free, so why not use it, I thought. Since then I´m taxing my brain about a good name.
It should make at least some sense, have a relation to gaming if possible and both German and English natives should be able to pronounce it without breaking their tongue.
Do you guys have an idea how to find such a name? Or even better, suggestions?

Aw, it has to be pronouncable? Well, there goes my first suggestion.

When I organised the current hosting for my business domain it came with a free domain registration, so I was in exactly the same position as you. Man, it was hard. I tried dozens and dozens of combinations of words but they sucked or the domain was taken. I finally settled on fallenworlds.com (yes, I know - not very "gamey" but I like post-apoc and dark fantasy settings)...it's sitting there for the day there's another tech/internet bubble... *g*

I tried at least 50 names in the last few days. Found a few which are okay, if somewhat generic. Nothing really clicked so far.

I´ve never heard or read this word in my whole life! Nice idea, but it´s too complex for a German audience. I´ll consider it if I do a blog.

How could you be on the Internet and miss the word cantankerous? There are so many people that it describes!
Here's some other ideas: gladiatorial-gamers, the-professional-combatant, rpgwarriors, the-gaming-joust, gaming-mercenaries, scrappergaming
It all just depends on what type of theme you want to go with and then finding a name to match.

Just general gaming? No particular feel, flavor or mission statement for the site? Well, how about gray-games then? You can't get more neutral than that.
Or how about eminence-grise-gaming? Although, that might be a bit too obscure for most people.

Why not combine ur name with a friend of yours..like me and Rangehurts (who by the way is now Metal Wing) we are currently working on a website which will be called Metal-drake....it is a gaming website....still has a LOT of work to do...but still...like i said earlier, find a friend and try combining names.
