When you first create your character you can choose to teleport to a friend. Just teleport to Roach. I'm not in the game right now because I'm at work. We are in the seven lakes region.
You can also chat us by typing "/chat Roach" for example.

bah...won't let me teleport to where Roach last logged out...its not in the mainland or whatever that means.

Which region did you choose to enter? There are several. Our guild is located in the Seven Lakes Region near the University of Art and Music for that region.
You can find out where you are by clicking on yourself, then Navigation, then Where am I?

I applied at the guild am just wandering around collecting wood....I learned dowsing but am not sure where to use this skill as all I can find is dirt.

The dowsing skill allows you to locate metals like copper and iron. If it says dirt, then you are not standing on a vein of metal. Unfortunately, I will not be online for another 5 or so hours so I cannot admit you to the guild or guide you though learning skills right now. It costs 500 wood to be admitted to the guild though.

whats it mean when a tab pops up with a hammering symbol on it? also found a vein of copper ore....don't know how to mine it or whatnot.

bah...long run I guess. Blah....having a hard time finding the place to learn how to make a mine...or where to get materials so I can pay for tuition for other courses.
