not in Aleroth area, but across the bridge somewhere inside caves...you'll find the murderer sooner or later anyway if you explore all areas on map...

It is NE of the dwarven village south of the marketplace. You can solve a 2 in one quest if i am remembering right.. you meet Caroline from the marketplace and she tells you of a cave to the south east.. its actually more east than south if i remember right again.. on the map its a white cave but instead of a black entrance i am pretty sure that its red. also azreth or whatever from the warriors guild is nw of the marketplace and will tell you to go there as well. BRING PLENTY OF POTIONS/MANA for restore

Val is much much right.. i am a putz and was cross reading information. this is the result of 36 hrs with no sleep.. and not having the game in front of me. check out the cave anyway

Now that i am back home i went back to my saves... since no one else bothered to tell you. Georges murderer is in the
wine shop below it in the cellars just ne of the ducal inn sw of the scroll seller
