ok; I'm in ch 3, my ch is lvl 16, mstr 1h swd and bow, and have 20 sp saved up. I'm on the focus quests. I have a hard time taking on more than 1 orc warrior at a time, and I've been to areas I've had to flee from them. I try using my bow, but once I hit one the whole group charges...

on a side note, who trains str & dex in the new camp? and if I killed Mordrag in ch 1, can I still get trained?

I use the crossbow on orcs. If you are well trained and have a decent crossboe then you can drop then before they ever get near you, sometimes even before they see you. The best way though is to climb up a cliff then rain arrows down on them, so that they cannot retaliate.

I took out the entire Orc Village with my Crossbow of War; thanks goes to Scar for providing me with it. At only 55-60 dex req, and yet dishing out 100 damage (and more if i get critical strike) I found it more than sufficient when dealing with, well, just about anything.

EXCEPT

There are creatures that aren't affected by arrows/bolts. MOST notably, skeletons and golems. And you will be SCREWED if you rely totally on a crossbow. To deal with golems, get the Orc Hammer (find out how via JemyM's EXCELLENT walkthru), and get a decent 2-hander sword for other things.

OR

Be a magi Solves a lot of problems.

Hehe, that the same way and weapon I used to wipe out the orc camp! You can get better hammers at he new camp but you only get them free if you are up for a bit of robbery. You can use axes on golems too.
