Well these don't happen too often luckily....but still now and then...
just now it crashed when i loaded my savegame...or sometimes when just playing it just completely crashes back to the desktop...is there anything to do about this...or can only a patch fix this?

Seeing how stable G2 is on my AMD and on my cousinīs Intel machine I wouldnīt be so sure itīs the game.
Usually a file named 'error.rpt' or similar is created when the game crashes. Itīs also possible the info is still in your clipboard. Then you can paste it into every editor and save it as a file.

Weird i can't find a file by that name...
I had just defeated "Attile" i saved my game and i just hung..nothing happened..i had to reset my pc...the great thing is...my savegame is fucked now...it crashes everytime i load it...really cool ! {NOT}

Power management or heat problem? Right now (with those temperatures we have here) I have to max the speed of my two 'normal' case fans (I have an additional water cooling) or the machine crashes even after a few minutes of non-system-hog games like DoD.

I don't know..it's weird..now i've been playing without problems since i reported the error..it loaded the savegames without problems...oh well.

exact same problem here.
One comp it plays fine. On my other comp crashes ever 20-40 mins of play (no matter gfx setting etc) |

Same problem. but only crashes in town (mostly Upper Quarter..) and when I go into the water in VoM. |

1. update graphics cards detonator
2. kill spyware (hard to believe, but it helps)
3. update the game
4. update windows??
5. dont use kazaa while playing 
my pc NEVER crashes thx do all of these tricks |
