Haven't had this much fun since Ultima

Well, I just started this game last night and snuck into the castle, stole all the swords and sold them back to the mages. I love a game that rewards intelligent cheating. Reminds me of Ultima6 and 7. I think i can honestly say this is the most interactive rpg i've ever played. damn.

True, there is alot of that kinda "cheat"-methods to get lots of Ore quickly.. a classic: steal and smite all the Smith's Raw Steel into Crude Swords and.. sell 'em :]

Not that hard to get +30K Ore

I know, but it's a bit better than having 20 This, 19 that, 389 something.. and 427 Transform into Meatbug Scrolls

I'm just an Ore-fanatic i guess

Congratulations, on getting in. Ore is very easy to get, but there is not much to buy early on, you will have thousands of ore soon. Have fun with the game and welcome.

Later on you don't even need ore because you can just whack the merchants.

...whacking the merchants is evil.

But if you get the merchant to attack you first, THEN you whack him, that's not evil, it's just self defense.

How do you get the merchants to attack you?

Draw your weapon without hitting him. People hate it when others draw weapons in front of them. He'll warn you twice or so, then whack you.

...but I still think it's evil. What did those traders do to you? After all, Me (the Gothic hero) is innocent and not a criminal after all (at least that's what the backside of my Gothic CD case says ).

If you really are an innocent messenger, why didn't you get any decent equipment to start with ? I know the king wants lots of ore, but surely he wouldn't start throwing innocent people in the colony... let's simply accept the fact that we're guilty of something or other ... AND whack the merchants !!!

Perhaps Me got thrown in because he was framed... wouldn't be the only one .
He definitely isn't sent in as a messenger. BUT if the backflap of the CD case says that Me's not guilty of a crime I'll assume that he's indeed innocent.
