Is there a class like a paladin?

I just bought this game today, and I'm really looking forward to playing.
I was wondering,if there is a class that can be good in battle, and cast magic spells?Usually my favorite type of class is a paladin.Which class will be close to one?Any help will be appreciated.Thank you in advance.

Quite honestly, you can customize your character's skills any way you like. So, if you want a warrior who casts spells, you can have it.

Yes basically what Val said is right. If you want to be a paladin, probably the good start is choose a warrior class, then pick up sword and shield skills, pick up some spells such as restoration (heal yourself or friends/summoned monsters) and such...
