I am no pro by any means, but here are a few suggestions. One be sure you have installed the patch. Two, be sure the disc is clean. Three, be sure all other programs are off, including any virus protection software. Also if you have dsl, be sure your connection is off and your computer is not trying to download an update of somekind in the background that is causing the problem. Try starting a new game and see what happens. Did you install anything after the game was installed? Do you have all the latest drivers for your machine hardware? Do you have all windows updates? If none of this helps you can try uninstall and reinstall. Also I had a problem running the game from the desktop icon. Try starting the game from the start menue list for it. Disable autoplay for your cd drive so it is not trying to open twice. If you want you can wait and see of anyone else has some ideas for you. If you do uninstall, be sure to do a search for all JoWood files after you do it and delete them as well. They will stop you from reinstalling otherwise. Hope you get it fixed.
