Problem with the editor

OK first problem. Im trying to create a new potion, I make it, assign its attributes, image, inv pic, etc etc, the only problem I have is how do I now put it into the game world.
I want to assign a few merchants to sell it, and I guess that you assign it through right clicking the item and going to info. Once im there I see Used by there objects: Nothing ...and Used in these cells: None.
Now I try double clicking in used by these objects...nothing happens...Ok now I try double clicking in Used by these cells, and the editor crashes, every time. I'm hoping this isnt how you put these items into the game world, can anyone tell me exactly how I can accomplish that.

Second problem. I've made a new ingredient for alchemy. How would I assign this ingrediant so that when it is combined with another in mortle and pestle, it turns into a custom made potion?
