Matt's Sarcastic Ass Answers of the Day(TM):
1) A big strong building.
2) Because it's sweet to have your own pad in which to stash your boo-tah.

i got a couple questions too.

ok number one , do you get guards to protect your stronghold?
does house Haluu(sp?) give a stronghold?

oh and i already have a house to store stuff in , (killed the clothes saleswoman and pawnbroker in balmora , and i can store things with my "VERY special friend") so whats the point of the place? is it safe from assassains attacking me in my sleep? or is my stuff garunteed safe there?

Your stuff is safe pretty much anywhere; hell, stash it in the middle of Balmora's Town Square and it'll stay there.

So why get a stronghold? Because it's FREAKIN' SWEET to see a little dot on your map that says "(Your Name Here)'s Stronghold)".

I'm not exactly sure how to get one. but I do know it requires rising hiiigh in the ranks of one of the three Great Houses.

question: How to have your own personnal littil nifty & cosy stronghold ?
answer: I've joined house Telvanni, and upgraded my rank up to Spellwright, my next rank in House should be Wizard BUT to be wizard I need a stronghold. So I asked someone in Telvanni council to build one for me...

Facts:
- join a Great House
- level up until you need stronghold
- ask to right person to build it
- wait
...
...
- wait
- normally you should have one (I said normally cause I am still waiting... and the old one who build it, always tell me "Yeah under construction, come back later"....)

For House Telvanni (The Dark Side) you need to go to the lowest level of the house that holds the House Telvanni council. You will find somebody there that you start asking questions to. They will tell you what items you need and who you need to see to get said items to start building a stronghold. For House Telvanni you need to be rank 4 or higher. Don't know what rank 4 is but I'm a Spellwright.

Rank 4 is Mouth. As far as I could tell, you cannot live in the Telvanni Stage One Stronghold, you must wait for Stage 2. Secondly, you must be at the rank of Master to start Stage 3.

Man, did you get your own name on your sh? All I got (House of Hlaalu) was some other guy's old manor, which was nice for sure but not really that personal
