Hi all,

Figured this would be a good thread for HELP! I've gotten nameless through MOST of the Chp 1 quests, but I can seem to get any further. He's lvl 4. I've killed all the monsters I can, plus the various lower lvl baddies (loafers and bandits), but everyone/thing else is kickin my butt.

I've trained up sword to 30, gotten lockpick, 20 on bow...leather armor and a wolf tooth sword.

I see some suggestions of killing/fighting civs in the harbor or at night. I prefer to play a (mostly) lawful character (hey, no yawning!), so the idea of say, slicing Lucy in two, really doesn't appeal. But is that the only way to progress at this stage? I need another 900 pts for level 5.

And how often should I pray (and does the amount of donation matter?)

Thanks for any help.

Don't worry if you beat up people you don't kill them (if you don't want to), they are just unconscius.

Praying at shrines: Donate 100 gold and you'll get a bonus unless you prayed there before. Pray at every shrine you meet.

Praying at the fire mage in Khorinis:
If think that here doesn't matter how much you donate (I donated the amount in the middle) and you'll get some great bonuses.
You can pray until you donate a total sum of 1000 (or 2000, I don't remember) gold pieces.

Okay, thanks, Titus.

So about the indiscriminant beating of Harbor citizens. I can't seem to knock em asleep....and when I kill them, I'm branded a murderer and everyone seems to want me to die. Should I use blunt objects or just my fists?

After several tries/reloads with the Fire Mage (Daron), I found that no matter how much money you give him, he gives you the same stuff. It looks like you get mostly HP +5, but the first time, he gave me 25XP and somewhere around 500 gold, he gave me 1 learning point. I redid it 3 times and that happened each time (I may have lost count but it seems to be at the 450 mark.)

So, conclusion would be to give him 50 gold each time for the maximum amount of stat awards.

As for the Harbor, I'm working on the hypothosis at this time that CITIZENS die, but the named NPCs get knocked unconcious (sp?).

I'll let you know when I do.

Some npc's will always die, but the most just go unconscious. But even then have to pay the fine to Lord Andre or use something like oblivion.

I'd suggest you just train a little. Have you already been to Onar's farm. Around his farm you can find a lot of fieldraider and lurker, and near Bengar's farm is a nice swamp with lurkers. You can also go to the circle of the sun. On your way you'll find lots of scavenger, lurker and more (be careful, some beasts are a lot tougher).

@titus: You will only get exp when you have the quest for Thorben and another time you'll get 25 exp when you give him several times 50 gold but that's only once.

You can't knock unconscious evil humans (bandits, Mario, Sleppers,...)

What is Oblivion? a spell of some sort? where would I find the scroll?

I don't really want to kill people, or even knock them out unless they attack me first. Just the way I do things.

Oblivion is a spell, that helps you (if you beat up somebody, you use Oblivion on him and they won't remember a thing).

You can get it from an alchemist in Khorinis (the hidden one), but first you have to do a quest for him.

Well, i don't know if you care about me, but what i did in ch1.With latest char,i'm at lvl15 or so maybe a bit higher, how?
From Xardas tower to Khorinis i tried beating every monster i can, inlcuding those behind the farm, where you can get a King's Sorrel later on in the game, but you find a Stone Circle with some money bags.
In the city, tried making all quests possible AND i didn't enter with the classic way into the city.... .....I went right of one of the guards at the gate and there is some kind of higer ground there,by jumping on the wall i managed to go in the city, if you do this and go to talk to Lee, you get 500xp (found this on this site www.elludion.no).And you can find other things here too, i won't state them all here.Just don't use all the hints and tips, it might ruin the game a little.
Spoiler:
Don't use the money trick and don't use any xp trick neither
Go look on that guide every time you're stuck on a quest, until now they've completed it until Ch5 (V0.95), so until there anything you will need is there. With the guide, got to lvl15 and only in Ch1 now.
One thing for the person whu used lps for lockpicking and 20 on bow, IMO i think it's better to concentrate on one thing first and then when u get strong enough use the new lps for lockpicking and other abilities.

WOW lv15 in Ch1 that's really going to ruin your fun of playing (if you play for the first time).
How do I get the guide, the site doesn't exist.
