What means Cord about 1H and 2H training?

Cord explain a few things about training in 1H and 2H. He mentions links between them. I can't understand a word of his explanation that seems just false.

Is this old stuff ok for gothic 2 but not for notr? Or can someone explain me what he is saying?

he is saying that when you train in one weapon type, the other will go up as well, just not as much as the one you train in.
so lets say you want to focus on two handed weapons (2H), so you spend some LP's and get +5 to two handed weapons. i'm not sure of the exact relationship, but your one-handed weapon (1H) skill will go up as well, 1 or 2 points. so if you have 10% in one handed (1H) and 10% in 2H, then you train +5 in 2H, your 1H will become 11% and your 2H will become 15%.
if you're still confused, dont worry it is not critical. just make sure you focus on one weapon type only! don't try to train both equally as that will be a waste of skill points. choose if you would like to specialize in one handed or two handed and stick with it.

Ok thanks, it's not what I understood for Cord explanations, I understood that you train both in parallal had the same cost. But few test I didn't not show that.

It's a bit like you mention but it seems to not be a percentage but the training ensure that the difference between the 2 weapons never reach 30.

So with 1H at 10 and 2H at 39 every point put in 2H also put 1 point in 1H. Adn I traied train them in parallal, that doesn't reduce the cost wich is like it works for str, mana and so on. Those test was made with the militia trainer.

In my previous play, during chapter 6 I trained a little bit with Gorn and training in 2H above 60 and no bonus coming from the weapon in hand, cost me 2LP instead of 3LP. Perhaps a bug or just Gorn a great trainer! Or I get wrong despite I check twice as I was surprised of the lower LP cost.

This sentence is from G2 without the expansion. In NotR learning some skill or attribute becomes stronger, with a max of 5 Lp per skill point, but one-handed and two-handed or bow and crossbow aren't linked anymore in NotR.

Ok this sentence is probably not adapted but I confirm there's link between 1H and 2H:

You have:
- 39 in 2H
- 10 in 1H

Train for 10LP to win 5 in 2H. In fact this training rise both 1H and 2H and you get for this training:
- 44 in 2H
- 15 in 1H

So for these 10LP used you rise 2H of 5 AND rise 1H of 5 for no additional LP cost.

It seems the trainer ensure there isn't more than 30 bewteen 1H and 2H.

Are you sure thereīs no additional cost? I thought you are forced to train both 1h and 2h because "you canīt learn one without the other", as Cord explains.

Here's how it works:

In the original:
Everything costs 1LP. If you are on different "levels" of expertise(master 2h, expert 1h for instance), you will have to train both, and for twice the cost(2LP per skillpoint, but you get 1% on both 1h and 2h for 2LPs).

In the add-on:
No such thing. Cord is just talking nonsense here, the skillpoint system is redone, and it costs 1LP to train up to 30, then 2 the next 30 etc up to 5LP over 120.

Gorath : About the LP cost it was as Maylander explained but with the bonus of having 1H also trained. But I didn't check the effective LP cost carefully because I believed what the game was saying in the dialog. Yes I could be wrong but that would be an horror in term of LP cost and if you want train only one weapon type.

So yes for that point (LP cost) a more carefull check should be done and the tests has to be done with other trainers (than the standard militia trainer anybody can use) and eventually see what influence has powerup.

Maylander I agree with you but for 2 points:
1 - With Gorn 2H training in Last chapter, my mage had above 60 in 2H, not wearing any items/weapons giving a bonus in 2H skill and Gorn training cost was 2LP instead of 3LP. Perhaps a bug.

2 - I am pretty sure that, by using the character helper to get LP, no tablets potions or any powerup used and I tested only with the militia standard trainer:
In these tests conditions I am sure that above a difference between the 2 skills as I explained above, you have no choice when you train the higher skill (for my tests 2H) then the result was to have both skills 1H and 2H trained.
