I finally Got the music to both Gothic 1 & 2

after much searching I figured out a way to do it.
I had to use a directmusic midi player and Audacity wav creator.
it was a primitive way of getting it. But it's mine now! all mine!!!!!

yeah, honestly all the music is summed up in that compilation song. there are a few extra melodies that are good to have that are not included in the compilation. And also some familiar atmospheric sounds that I came to like while exploring. I am sort of a video game music treasure-hunter. So, the quest to aquire the music was really the fun part for me. if any one is interested, I have:

Ultima 1-IX
Neverwinter nights
Gothic 1 & 2
Nocturne
EVE
DAOC
Vampire-The Masquerade
Spellforce
Dungeon Seige
Divine Divinity
Blade of Darkness
homeworld 1 & 2
Morrowind
lineage II
Halo
Outcast
Rainbow 6
unreal 2003 & 2004
X2 the threat and
diablo2

it may not be reasonable to send these, but I can tell you how I ripped them if anyone is looking for them.

If I were to choose an all time favorite It would be a tough call.
-Morrowind is the most beautiful & elegant.
-Vampire is the most emotionally engrossing.
-Homeworld has the unique ability to grab you and put you on an entirely different reality plane.
-Ultima IX is just plain great RPG music. A must have for any medieval buff.

They are all great for different reasons. But if I had to choose one I would choose Ultima IX because I will usually listen to the entire soundtrack. Morrowind would come in second and Vampire third.

Morrowind's main title theme has a sort of majesty to it which makes me think " yeah yeah I know this is the best game ever no need for a parade every time i turn ya on "

Another soundtrack that is tip-top is Enclave... Excellent dark, gritty, medieval orchestration. The vocals on the exit-game credits are hauntingly beautiful, kind of like the graphics in the game itself.

Hey, just a question.... Which do you all prefer?? G1's or G2's music??

I'm going with the first one myself. I was a little dissappointed that the music in G2 only changed based on location rather than the time of day.

y'know, I think I like the G2 soundtrack better. it was not as dark and tribal sounding. Dont get me wrong, I love both of those elements. But G2 music was a little more engrossing, emotional and memorable. Aside from a few tracks, I couldn't really remember what the gothic 1 tracks sounded like without listening to them. Not so with G2.

Hey Jabber, are u the same one who was working on Ultima IX redemption?
