i have 2 comps i have attempted to play the game on. both seem to handle the game almost fine as long as im willing to sacrafice major graphic enhancements...
first comp: p4 1.2 gig processor with voodoo 4 and 256mb of ram
second comp: p3 800mb processor with voodoo3 and 256 mb of ram
both play VERY choppy unless i do away with any graphics. so basically the game looks like poop and i dont even want to play it.
what should i have my settings to? also, is there something i can get software wise that may help? and are others experiancing this as well?
as of right now i dont like the game. but if i can adjust the comp to play it well and as smooth as some say, i might take another crack at it.
what should i do?
p.s. both are sony vaios.

YOU HAVE A MONSTER MACHINE!
There is obviously something wrong with the way you've setup up your rig. I have a P3 933mhz and a Geforce, and playing with everything to the max the thing plays as smooth as pussy fluid!
Try downloading better drivers for both your sound card and vid card. Maybe you need more RAM. This game demands more in that department than shooters which constantly take you to loading screens.
I don't know if the game is optimized for Glide which I think is the default voodoo4 renderer. I am not sure if that card has Direct3D capabilities, but I have read others with voodoo5's are not having any problems at all.
Don't think that because QuakeIII runs fine on your system so should Gothic. They have different engines which better suit the style of game they are.
