Since you lucky Euros got an early release, how's the game looking?
Also, I haven't had any luck finding system requirements. How much hardware does it take? _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

It's an okay game. More like number III than number IV. More interactive towns/battle-view where you can zoom around and stuff. There's also video-effects during battles.
Too bad that they didn't keep the IV feature of being able to have several heroes in an army, or just walk with monsters.
Heroes can, however, physically fight... kind of.
Even the largest maps feel way too small.
The requirements are: Pentium IV 1.5 Ghz processor, Win 2000/XP, 2 GB disk space, 512 RAM, 64 MB graphics card. _________________ Like some bold seer in a trance;

The game is really great, but campaign was a dissapointment, when i got to higher levels the campaign just ... ended. One or two more missions would make it one of the best heroes yet |

Thanks for the reviews, and thanks Hexy for the hardware specs. More reviews are always welcome! _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

just got it today, having fun with it, tho Im arguably still in the first couple hours or so of the game
Goes without saying, it's beautiful, especially for someone like myself who really likes the WCIII look in games. Im already hip to basic city management, it's pretty straightforward, tho Im sure it's more complicated later on. The TB combat is slow for someone who likes RTS and has potential to bore the socks off one if not done right, but happy to report that this is done right, and works for me so far and is quite engaging. That initiative bar along the bottom is a welcome touch, so you can see both the order of those "up to bat", and how spells and such affect their order. Up to this point Disciples II was my benchmark for TB games, but this is pretty much on it's way to destroying that.
My only complaint is one I voiced long ago after playing the demo: I dont like the fact that your hero is not slugging it out on the front lines. On their turn they sail by, impervious to all, and take what amounts to a "cheap shot" in my opinion. Whether it's tradition from this version or that version, I dont care. I dont like it.
But overall yes, I like the game, and can see this as a nice break from the onslaught of frantic RTS action that consumes most my gaming time these days _________________ “Then away out in the woods I heard that kind of a sound that a ghost makes when it wants to tell about something that's on its mind and can't make itself understood, and so can't rest easy in its grave, and has to go about that way every night grieving.”-Mark Twain |

If you liked the other games in the series you will like this one.
Its a little prettier but basically the same super-addictive gamestyle.
I saw a review describe the game as feeling like a board game and it really does feel like that (partly because its turn-based, partly because the gameplay is totally "unrealistic" and partly cause of the graphics).
If you didn't like the earlier games or want "realism" or real-time action you may be disappointed... |

Another question, oh wisdoms...
I heard a rumor that there aren't any scenerios (stand-alone maps) included. I'm not talking multiplayer showdown maps, I'm talking single player, single map, smack the AI around for a couple hours and walk away. True rumor? _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=
