Now what?

I've done basically all the quests available before joining a camp. The only missions that I'm aware of that I haven't completed are Scatty/Kharim/Korgir(sp?) and Fingers. I've even got Lares to alter the list for 250 exp.

My issue is that I'm only level 8 and I feel I've read a lot about people being level 13 and higher before siding with a camp. What else can I do? I'm not a very proficient fighter with only 15 str (boosted by Horatio). The only skill points I've spent are four on various hunting techniques and 5 on dexterity (to use a decent bow). A lot of the opponents I'm now meeting are too tough for me to handle.

Is there any general (or specific) strategies people have to offer? I'd like to get a few more skill points under my belt before commiting to a camp.

then first do all the quests u still know u have to do.U made ur game harder by putting points into dex and bow.It would be much better if u would put them into the fighting skills. As for the xp those ppl killed almost everything that is possible in the land.So i doubt ull have the nerves. Those ppl played this game dozen of times andk now everything about it so play it how u like it and then play it to see what u missed

The king of spam makes a valid point.....experiment, try things and die a horrid death, then try something else. Try to avoid walk throughs or advice....the game is too dam good to ease through it. Trust me, and learn it on your own by trying things.

I will give you one hint.....find someone to escort you to another place. Then reload and see how you can manipulate that escort. you can level up easily if you understand. That is a huge hint, but experiment, die, and experiment again. And lastly, save early, save often and save in more than one slot. If you are about to fight save. If you are about to talk to someone, save. If you have ANY concern about what might be about to happen, save again.

Did i mention to save early and often in more than one slot? You will forget and have to go through the past hour of things you just did, and my response is.......BAHAHAHAHA, I warned you

I'll probably fight Kharim and fail for 50 exp, although I'd prefer to beat him. He's rock hard though, so I doubt I have a chance. Same for Kirgor, but I won't even get 50 exp, which blows.

It doesn't really seem worth wasting 20 skill points trying to impress Fingers considering everyone says thieving abilities are rubbish. So I'm not that concerned about doing the quest.

I only put 5 points into dexterity, just so I could use the longbow (with my +5 ring). I'm not planning on sticking with the bow, but it's nice to get me through some of the tougher points at the beginning. All in all I'm only nine points down on skill points.

I always save all the time... but whenever I mess up, it's always after not saving for fifteen-thirty minutes, dammit. Typical. I haven't been using any actual walkthrough, I've just been browsing the forums and checked the tips at the beginning of JemyM's guide.

The escort thing you mention, I noticed that with Dusty. First of all I broke him outta the Old Camp without paying, then I took him through the eastern woods and used him to help me beat up scavengers, wolves, molerats, bloodflies, even a few Orc Dogs (although he couldn't hurt them - I used him as a decoy and filled 'em full of arrers - see, bow was useful!). But then he got boring so I took him to the Sect Camp.

Just focus all your learning points on strength and skill and get a decent one hander. And you can always lure, strafe and use spells.

Why a one hander and not a two hander?

I prefair them for their agility, if you are good in strafing and going back and in (normal fighting skil i mean) it will be easier for you with a one hander.

Well, I've piled all my points into strength and one handed weapons for now. I'll go two handed when I get the option, but right now the only person I've met who I know can teach me is Lee, and I ain't joining those New Camp scum. Plus one handers look uber cool once you've mastered them!

250 mana with no training?? How is that possible?

Well, if you finished with those stats, I kinda feel it's not that important to conserve skill points too much.
