Raised guard post in ice area (chapter2)? |
|
Hi!
I am wondering if it is possible to access the guard post near the dragon in the North Western ice area of Chapter 2? I have killed all the Lizardmen now, but can't figure out how to get up into the guard post where there seem to be a few tempting chests to loot
Can someoen help out here? |

Never been able to get in myself. You could access through a ladder in Gothic 1, when this was the New Camp(lead by Lee, who's now on Onars' farm). The only reason the houses are still around is to show it's still the New Camp, despite all the snow and ice that suddenly appeared. At least, that's how I've always thought of it.
And welcome to the forums btw. |

You can get there by cheating, but there's little point. You will only find:
5 arrows
36 gold coins
1 potion of mana essence
Nothing sensational. _________________ A new day, and nothing has changed. |

I managed to get up ther without cheating. basically you need to position yourself underneath and to the right of the doorway. When you are in teh right place you can jump up and you'll be able to pull yourself into the guard post.
As you say though, seems a really crappy amount of loot for all the effort you have to go to! |

And by the way who knows are there any magic arrows for the magic bow, except the one you find near the bow (in NOTR). |

Nope. Magic arrows, fire arrows, and magic bolts are all limited to the small number you find with the corresponding weapon.
I don't even use them. I just equip the weapon because it looks cool.
Especially when you equip the fire bow and Beliar's Claw. Then it looks like there is smoke coming off of the fire. _________________ A new day, and nothing has changed. |

I have the same. Because the magic arrows and bolts are limited, I don't want to waste them and in the end I don't use them at all. Such a shame, because the weapons are really good. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

Same here. I always do that with limited items. In games that have grenades in them I usually don't use the grenades at all because I don't want to waste them. I'm so miserly.
I thought I would try to get some use out of the fire bow and use it on the ice wolves. Fire takes out ice right? Nope, barely scratches them. If something is that limited and special you would expect it to work well. So the magic bow works better, but who cares? You have 20 arrows and 500 critters to kill. Gee where to start.
I say their best use is to make your character look cool. _________________ A new day, and nothing has changed. |
