| Shadow Ruins - Saving the Knight |

Well, I am running through portals between a lot of small hovering ilands. I think it´s called Shadow Lands. On one side I can see 4 purple stalagmites, a portal, and then 2 stalagmites. On the other side 3 purple stalagmites, a portal, and then 3 stalagmites.
I read on another board that I´m supposed to run through the gate with 4 stalagmites about 20 times and then go up. Well that does not work though.  I'am running and running, for more than 30 - 40 times but I do not come anywhere. I also tried the other direction and I also tried running forward through the gates as I camed, and random. This has taking me an hour or more now... Can anybody please help me? It´s frustrating now... 
Update: I found this information on another board "Try going thru the portals with 3 stalagmites, then 4, then 3... alternate... I found the exit like that, but it still took many portals." on http://support.typhoongames.com/board/forum_posts.asp?TID=1912&KW=shadow+ruins&TPN=6
Update: Made it. Not exactly as the guy wrote on the other board, since I discoverd that I was "running in a circle always ending up in the same place". I changed direction once with two 3:s in a row and then keept running through portals with 4 and then 3, as the guy wrote. Then it worked.
