restarting questions

I've played more or less through the game (as a templar wahoo) and want to start over and get things right this time
I read the FAQ (its huge! hahah) and have a few questions.

If I'm going to be a mage, is there any xp or any other advantage to being a fire mage first THEN a water mage, or is it better to just be a water mage the whole way through. Same question for a warrior.

Also, I've heard that all the monsters 'respawn' after you finish the beginning part. Does this mean I should try and kill as much stuff as possible before joining a camp? And also is there any other time that the monsters respawn like this (looking to get the most experience that I can hehe)
Guess thats about it, thanks!

If you are going to become a mage, then start as a fire mage. You will get access to spells faster and you can have the option to switch to a water mage later if you want. You can also eventually become a necromancer like Xardas.
For a warrior, it doesn't matter which camp you join.
Some monsters respawn each chapter, so it is a good idea to kill all that you can before joining a camp.

To become a water mage you either have to already be a fire mage, or a new camp mercenary. Either way, the path is long. Might as well just be a Fire Mage first - you'll only have to go through being a shadow.

I don't think monsters re-spawn, but rather spawn at each chapter. If you don;t kill some monsters at all, after many chapters their numbers will have grown and grown. On the other hand, other new monsters will spawn depending on how advanced a chapter you're on.
