Someone mentioned that using points for mana was a waste because of the number of mana potions that permanently increase your mana stat. I've only found two so far - one as a reward for delivering the Fire Mage's letter and one as a reward for delivering the first focus to Cor Kalom.

Are there really enough of these potions around to get a decent mana stat?

You find enough of them late in the game. Then you can cast 3 or 4 decent spells before you have to recharge your mana.
That�s good enough for a warrior.

how do you rechage it (other than using potions)

After you sleep you get your mana reset to your maximum just as you are healed.
