RPGDot Feature: Ashes - Two Worlds Collide Interview

In our next article on indie cRPGs, we had the chance to chat with the team behind the recently announced 'Ashes - Two Worlds Collide' (no relationship to the newsbit below). With inspiration from titles like Ultima VII and turn-based combat, this could be one for old-school players to watch. Here's a snip on the seamless world:
Yes, one of the main features is the seamless world which includes the transition into buildings and caves. It adds to immersion and allows for continuous gameplay. Seamless houses also allow for NPC's to move between interior and exterior - allowing for a more real and alive world and prevents gameplay loopholes such as escaping combat by walking through a door.

Player freedom in terms of movement is not limited beyond the natural terrain, locked doors etc. Creatures don't level up with the player so certain areas are best avoided at early levels. In other respects lets just say that freedom includes the possibility to attack and kill your own party members.
Read it all here.

This game looks great. I even like the name of the engine.

Yes, it's definitely one to keep an eye on. I'll certainly be giving it a spin when it's released!!

I did think the engine was mighty tasty, if I may say so...
