A wizard could probably do it if he/she had stoneskin cast on themselves and the henchman, protection from elements cast, as well as all the other goodies (especially spells that help saving throws... which are a clerics speciality).

At the very least you might be able to survive long enough doing it this way to pull it away from the door.

Although if you have the amulet fixed and repowered it gived you both bonuses to you saving throws v's Cold and damage reduction versus cold (very handy against a white dragon). Now all you need to do is deal with it's physical attacks - hmmm as EverythingXen said use a stoneskin if you can (although my 12 level ranger managed to beat it - at the cost of his henchmans life, his pets life and the life of his summoned pet too )

Hi all

Sorry i forgot to tell you that i was a wizard. silly me. thanks for all the info i managed to kill it evenually with the fire balls (lots of them).

But i got another problem now!!!

Im trying to kill the big red dragon ive forgotten the name now K somthing. I cant even get a hit on him before he kills me im still level 11. He just wipes us all out in 2 hits doesnt even give me a chance to teleport out of there.

Have any of you wonderful people got any good hints on how to kill this beast??? Fire ball dont seem to do any good at all!!!

Thanks

Angie

You're fighting Klauth at level 11?

How are you beating the level 18 Duergar wizards that run around that area (if I recall correctly)?

Run, Forest, run!!!!!!

Find a way to level up and do so.

He's vulnerable to cold spells, but highly spell resistant. Cold is your best best. I'm presuming you completed the quest properly and he's 'weakened'... otherwise you'll never beat him, period.

Cold spells, magic missiles, etc.

heck i didnt know they were level 18!!!!

i just hid in a corner and jumped out and blasted them with loads of fireballs and then went back to temple and slept and did it again soon killed the lot of them.

ill try using cold and missile on the old git but by the looks of things i might have to level up.

At what level should i attempt to do him? i dont think there are many quests left to do in chapter 3!! but i missed loads out of 1 and 2 should i start again and get to a higher level before coming to chapter 3 or can i carry on and maybe finish the game??

thanks all

Personally I found Klauth to be the most difficult fight in the whole game (even after do the weakening thing!). My Ranger was 14th level and I just kept hitting him the porting back to the temple and rebuffing myself with potions and my few spells (like resistance). This still took me about 10 tries to do. I suspect you may be too low a level to pull this off - if you manage it then well done. One useful thing would be stoneskin and perhaps a fire shield (cold version). Sorry not much more I can suggest - although well done for getting this far with a lvl 11 char

thanks for the info but i think i might have to restart and try again.

The mistake i made was that i had loads of quests still to do in the 1st and 2nd level and never got round to doing them just wanted to get to the next level if you know what i mean!! I bet i missed out on loads of points so this time ill do all of them

how many levels are there in this game?

Also i've heard lots of people talking about modules, how do i get these? A very silly question i suppose but i woundnt know where to start!!

Thanks for all the help
