Recommendations for SP Module w. good story and immersion

Hello,

I am looking for recommendations for good-written Single-player modules.
For me it is all about the story, interaction, about making choices and "roleplaying" . Combat is not very important for me.

However i do not like too much humor in my RPG`s so I`m guessing the Penultima-Series is not the one for me.

So people anyone can give me some good candy ?

Thanks in advance,
L.

Click me!

There's a reason why those mods are in the Hall of Fame.

To refine Val's list just a bit, the Dreamcatcher series is supposed to be excellent. The second chapter of the Lone Wolf series has been called the best SP experience available, although I'm not sure how it would fit your needs. A little further down the list, you'll find "Trial of Spirit". I haven't managed to complete it yet, but based on my experience so far this might be just the thing you're looking for.

I'm quite fond of the "A call for Heroes" series, especially the later one. Though they're a bit of a challenge on single player. The lord of Blight series is quite good as well.

all good advice by the posters thus far, but there should be a caveat posted whenever you mention the "Hall of Fame" list. since NWN is a big popular thing now, many of the mods aren't all that great but have huge "fanboy" followings. some of the mods in the Hall of Fame are like that, unfortunately. many people dont think they're worth the high rating, but the author has tons of friends who vote him up.

also on a side note, the Lone wolf series is indeed supposed to be excellent but it is also unfinished and the author has left the community more or less. its possible LW chapter 2 will leave you hanging on a thread which never gets totally resolved...

I HIGHLY recommend The Citadels of Blood Module ! If you've clocked NWN original campaign you'll love this one!! I've played lots of mods and this one's by far the best! Get it here!

I'm actually planning on doing a Gothic module. Recreating Gothic as best I can.

Copyright Infringement much? ;P

Just kidding...

But if you were to do it... how would you extract the audio from G2?

Much as I love Gothic, why would you try to make a Gothic mod in NWN? Re-making old games I understand, but not a relatively new one like Gothic.

I had considered doing a Gothic mod too but when you think about it the NWN engine doesn't really do Gothic justice. There really is no point other than to try to get people interested enough to buy the real game.

Answering the original query, I just finished Birthright of the North ... it was great! For a sneakier game try the Graveron (sp??) Seduction it, too, was great.

For a linear game with a surprise at the end I also enjoyed "Twilight" ... I started "A Harpers Tale" with a Wizard ... not a great choice as this module involves a body count that is truly astounding (at least so far ...).

I wasn't very impressed with "A Harpers Tale" either. If a game starts out with tons of monsters it usually loses my attention fairly quickly.

The "Lone Wolf" series is good, as stated above, with great scripting and a fun story.

But if you were playing a fighter type for this I'd bet it would be much more interesting. The story seemed to be pretty good, and I LOVED sending the bad guys to the dragon cave!!

I only stopped playing because I ran out of time. I was on a road trip, and had to head home. It might've turned into a great story, but I never got more than 1/2 way through the first part.
