Disappointment

Every time I read an interview I check the date. In early interviews some questions went unanswered, till this day I have no answers. My finger tells me that someone is lying to us , well my conclusion is that the game is not progressing and we wont have the next TES game until the day Nvidia and ATI become forgotten companies.

Relax, its listed every where its comming out in November late November and im a little sketchy i think it will get delayed at least once and also in one of the latest reviews he said they are testing it out and checking for problems and still have along way to go so when i read that then thats when im doubting its comming out in November.

But dont forget they have been working on the game for 3 years now so there is a good chance it could come out in November but i think it will get delayed once before it comes out with an excuse "to polish it more" or something like that but i do hope it does come out it looks pretty good i hated Morrowind but this is looking good.

Well, I hope the game IS released in late November, I’ve been checking sites and forums for a release date ever since I found out about it.
I just hope that the magic system is "magic" and really polished(they may take all the time they need) because what Morrowind offered was "incredible" .
I’m sorry if I sounded like “let’s forget about this game, it's not coming out".

Dont worrie man i think it'll come out next month they been working on it for 3 years

I really hated Morrowind its seriously one of the crappiest rpg's ive ever played and i have good reasons for it i seriously tried to like that game but it just has to many problems the first was it crashed constantly even with newest patch and i had newest of drivers installed etc i hope this doesnt happen in Oblivion lol.

Oh and about the combat and magic in morrowind it was horrible very clumsy stiff and boring the ranged weapons were horrible it didnt feel like you were shooting an arrow it didnt have the satisfaction of shooting a fast straight powerful arrow into an enemy it took forever to pull the arrow back like you have 50 pounds of weight on the arrow and when you shoot the arrow its like the arrow had 250 pounds of crap on it like shooting an elastic very crappy.

The melee combat was also very boring and dull it also didnt have the Satisfaction of really fun combat it was just like you were poking at the person with a fork very boring and slow.

But about Oblivions combat i was really worried Oblivion was going to be crap like Morrowind because of the combat but i watched the Oblivion DVD wich has 20 minutes of actual ingame gameplay and trust me the combat is going to be amazingly fun.

They show alot of stuff before the combat like the pysics and shadows etc like one trap you're walking and this big spike trap comes rushing down and two skeletons are comming at you, you move to the side and it crushes them lol.

Then they showed the melee combat you're walking outside and aprroach the entrance to elven ruins the guy was talking and explaining threw the whole thing he said they wanted to capture the fun of a real sword battle just people going at it bashing each other with swords etc and it looks very fun the combat is more action oriented its not slow and clumsy like in morrowind.

He has a shield and a one handed sword he approachs the guy he starts slashing him looks very fun then he blocks with his shield then slashes trust me watch the oblivion dvd it looks so fun.

Then they shown the bow and arrow its perfect it actually looks and handles like a real bow and arrow it doesnt take a year to pull back the arrow for maximum power and launch it its quick and easy and shoots out real fast and powerful looking like a real bow and arrow and the arrows actually stick into the enemies.

They also shown the sneak ability they did this wile in third person when there is a eyeball icon enemys cant see you then the guy readied his bow and arrow and you can have a special stealth attack with the bow instead of shooting the bow standard he held it sideways and zoomed he shot the creatures in the head and they died with one hit and they still didnt see him / give his position away.

They showed other stuff to but to lazy to explain, go download the 20min dvd you can find it on big gaming sites trust me you're gonna love the looks of the combat

EDIT: Forgot to say in the combat when slashing i saw some blood spray out and after the weapons covered in blood looks nice

Also the only good thing about Morrowind was its music it was beautiful (the theme song is the best) Oblivion has the same top notch music

EDIT: haha oops you asked about the magic and by you're avatar i guess you're always the mage / wizard type class in games eh? Im always the warrior

In the movie they only showed one spell the fireball spell and he only used it once he used it on a small creature not sure what they are probably goblins now compared to morrowinds slowly boring and ugly spells, the spell casting was in a blink of an eye and it looks like a really 3dish fireball hes fighting with his sword then he just casts a fireball in a second and slams right into the enemy looks very nice so if thats just a simple fireball then 'd love to see what the more powerful spells look like

Although im gonna be the warrior and use mostly melee weapons but i will use some magic cause 100% melee i might get bored in such a big world.

Oh and the movie they are using beefed up stats etc in the real game the creatures will take more hits of course

After all you said, the magic system is the most unknown part of the game, and me being a magic lover, must consider myself lucky , I am going to have a big surprise (if not, a crushing disappointment ).

trust me watch the movie both fighting styles look awesome just by seeing that one spell cast i know magic lovers are gonna be happy its face based i mean you could be kicking ass with a sword then just cast a spell with a button no screwing around

oh and about oblivion comming out november 21th it has too cause on all the websites taking preorders for xbox360 oblivion is on there launch lineup for every bundle and same date as pc so i cant see them delaying it when every site is saying with xbox360 preorders oblivion is out on launch day if they did that i;d make alot of ppl mad

You should never trust dates given by retailers, even when they've started taking pre-orders. Only dates given by the publisher can be trusted. At the moment, Bethesda's current word is "Holidays 2005" and 2K are only saying "coming soon".

That said, it's in the final stages of development, and it appears to be part of the Xbox-360 launch line-up (which is also slated for "Holiday 2005"). Personally, I'm expecting a mid- to late-November release.

Gamespot says it's coming out Q4 2005! That leaves us this 3 months to come, all we have to do is to pray that time doesn’t freeze, or Bethesda doesn’t have a mass computer crash , and when it comes out we will all be happy(yes, I am convinced now that the game will be good ).

And by the way Paul999999 do you know exactly when Black and White 2 is going to hit the stores ?

The game came out today October 5th but some people got it yesterday and also the devs said its not comming out until the 7th (because there is already a patch and you cant use you're previous saves with it and this patch lets you skip the tutorial and have b&w 1 controls alot of ppl are complaining about the controls)

Thats what ive heard and ppl do have it since yesterday cause ppl are posting screenshots oin the offical forum.

My ebgames always gets the games early but im not gonna get / play black and white 2 until i finish up another game.

Oh and did you watch the oblivion 20 min movie? you gotta see it for you're self much better then words you'll love that fireball

Well that's what I meant by asking when it's coming out... I usually read as much reviews as I can about a game before deciding whether to buy it or not.

And about the movie, I'm afraid it's going to wait because I have the most horrible internet connection. Hey don't worry I'll write my impressions about the fireball (if ever I get to see the movie before playing the game itself) .

Yeah i kinda was guessing you had a bad connection or something cause i was thinking how come he doesnt just watch the movie and when ever i asked you if you watched it you never said anything You need to see it though its not bad its little over 100MB you could leave you're comp on all night but not really worth it for a little 20 min demo theres a better quality one over 1GB.

I'll try to find a pic of the fireball spell for you or even download it again and take a screenshot for you wile the movie is playing but it might be bad quality.

Oh and my ebgames got Black and White 2 this morning (Canada) dont know where you're from but if you want the game you should call you're ebgames or gamestop and see if they got it.

Personally, I don't care how Oblivion will look on Xbox 360, I'm not getting one (PC resolution will be far better of course), my only concern is to have Oblivion play smoothly on my PC, I don't want any crystal pure graphics (although that won't be a bad thing to have), just to have fun playing it and that'll be more than good.

By the way Paul999999, you guessed right, it will take all night, but hey its a 56k I'm using that's phone connected and there could be horrible consequences to keep the phone busy, it's frustrating... My brother has a good connection (a really good one) I've already asked him to download it and send it to me on cd. I'll be patient, I'll wait. .
