Gothic 3: Newest Screenshots @ Gamershell

The staff of Gamershell have just posted up these 3 newest screenshots of Gothic 3, along with this latest (?) news...

The game will be released later this year
JoWooD Productions released three more screens from Gothic III, the next chapter of the popular RPG series developed by Piranha Bytes. We remind you that Mike Hoge from Piranha Bytes revealed that Gothic III can be finished without joining a guild and the game world will consist of three different parts: a desert in the south, the landscape we already know from Gothic II and the northern part. However, they had to reduce the size of the world because they reached the limits of their technical capabilities and had to meet deadlines. Due to the deadlines, the multiplayer mode will not be implemented. Also, the player is now more forced to eat, sleep and supplying other wants regularly or by limiting the inventory. If the player will choose a higher degree of difficulty, then he could confront an Orc at the beginning of the game, instead of a wolf.

Hmm, that piece of news is very questionable.

This had nothing to do with deadlines. Right from the start PB has stated that they wouldn't make a multiplayer part because of the way the quest system works.

I certainly hope not.

Or perhaps too much rice schnaps

What the hell is gamershell talking about ? When did PB say that they had to reduce the gaming world ? The only thing they said was that the gaming world in G3 will be 3 times bigger, that's all.

Maybe they wanted to make it 10 ten times bigger at first, but Jowood said that the deadline was January 2006.

Anyways indeed multiplayer was declined allready the early moment they started to plan doing the third sequel and about the reduce of the landscape is aswell probably a bs cos that hasnt been mentioned anywhere aswell. Gamershell probably didnt have anything else to announce so they grabbed some avarage things about the game and composed a post and newsflash
