I've found all the clues and I'm standing in the small alcove in the in the most SE corner of the map. I'm standing under the ladder, I have a shovel with me and I keep trying to use on the ground in this area. I'm having no luck getting the key though. Can anyone tell me exactly where to click with the shovel befor I pull ALL of my hair out? Thanks.

You're not supposed to use it on the ground, you're just supposed to use it (usually F key).
