INSTALLING Problem With ARX FATALIS

I PURCHASED THIS GAME LAST YEAR.LOADED THE GAME IN MY COMPUTER AND IT WORKED FINE.I RECENTLY LOADED THE GAME AGAIN AND NOW THE GAME DOESN'T LOAD .I TRIED USING THE WINDOWS START MENU AND THE GAME INSTALLED OKAY BUT IT STILL WON'T RUN.

MY COMPUTER IS A HP W/ 2.O GHZ /P 4/512 DDR MEMORY/60 G HARD DRIVE.CD-RW & DVD-ROM. WINDOWS XP.

ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM? ALL COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I'm assuming you did a new install of the game. I had a similar problem where the game was still installed but it had been a very long time since the last time playing it.

When is the last time you optimized your harddrive and have you made any hardware changes since the first time you played the game?

I had this problem with reinstall. Go in and make sure all the JoWood files and save games ect got deleted, as well as the patch to the game. You may have to do a search to find all the files, after that it should install again without problem. If not come back or email jroby as noted in the first thread. He shows up here all the time and answers pretty fast.
P.S. using all caps is considering yelling on the boards. I know you didn't want to yell at us.

Thanks for the quick response. However,l tried doing a search for save files and other arx fatalis files.None were present.I will try optimizing my hard drive(this consider defraging the hard drive?).and l will keep both of you posted(excuse the pun).So far things are still the same with the game.Sorry for the caps on the first post it was not done intentionally.l'm open to any other suggestions.

As I said, be sure all JoWood files are deleted. They don't get uninstalled when you take out the game and they stop the reinstallation. If all else fails, such as make sure you defrag and have the updated drivers for all you stuff, (big must when you have WinXP) then email the developer. He has been most helpful to people here. Garret may have some ideas as well. He will be checking the board I'm sure. Good luck and let us know how you fix it so the next guy can save himself a headache. As for the Caps, we didn't take it personal. We always try to help here if we can. jroby@arkane-studios.com
