How do Attributes "govern" your Skills in Morrowin

The manual says each Attribute "governs" several Skills...but it doesn't really say what the EFFECT is.

So, for example, lets look at the Destruction school of magic, which is governed by Willpower.

What would be the difference between a character who had 100 Willpower and 100 Destruction, and a character who had 50 Willpower and 100 Destruction?

That sort of deal.

Thanks

Thanks, I understand all those "secondary" effects.

However, in the manual (and everywhere else), I hear that Attributes govern SKILLS. But I have no idea what the effect is.

Again: Difference between a character that has 100 Willpower and 50 Willpower but the SAME Destruction Skill stat (100)? How would their Destruction skill differ?

Thanks

(I'm beggining to think no-one knows this)

I'm very curious about this, too. So far, it seems skill govern stats moreseo than stats govern skills. That because the more you use a skill during your level, the bigger bonus you will get to that stat when you level.

The higher the stat the faster the skill rises?

I'm curious about this as well. A good example is the dark Elf. This is the race I want to choose and I noticed that it has +10 to destruction school of magic, but willpower for dark elves starts at 30. What benefits would the destruction skill gain from raising will to say 50?

Hmm..

It is confusing, but read the last paragraph on page 26 of the manual. From what it says there, it almost sounds as if your skills govern your stats and not the other way around like the game would lead you to believe.
