I played this game on my old comp with Win200. While it looked great, the framerate was horrible.
Now, on my new comp with WinXP, the framerates are fine, but my textures are screwed. All textures (characters and everything else) are horrible unless it's at very close range. The ground right near me looks fine, and guards look fine as long as right next to them. Everything at a distance looks blurry.
I adjusted the setting back and forth, they only seem to make it worse, never better.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Have you tried all the obvious stuff? DirectX, newer drivers, reinstall Gothic, disable sound?
Also the latest 4in1 (if you have a Via chipset)? |

Yep, tried everything. I'm certain it's not the computer. I just bought it last week from Falcon Northwest. Top of the line.
I've reinstalled the game four times. And disabled sound. Same thing.

If everything except the speed was fine before you changed your computer then the new machine has to be the reason for the damaged textures.
For me it sounds like a driver issue.
