| Gomez Castle/Side entrance? |

I'm just goofing off after killing Gomez.
To the right of the entrance to his castle, is a ladder going down to a hole in the ground and a door. Surrounding the ladder are a few ore nuggets as well as a nugget at the bottom of the ladder. Every time I try to go down the ladder the game boots me and the game quits. Is this a glitch or an old area no longer in the game? Is there a different way to get down there?

I usually never used the ladder. I'd just jump down. The area does exist.

I could use the ladder, and there's definitely an area behind the door... you might try to reinstall.

How do you get passed that door? I can't find a key and lockpicks don't work for me |

You need to get the key from one of the ore barons, I can't remember which one, but I think it's Raven. He won't give it to you nicely. I don't know how far you are into Gothic, don't want to spoil it too much.
