I'd like an introduction to the Elder Scrolls universe before Morrowind is released. Are any of the games from that setting recent enough for me to install on WinXP?
I know that some folks have made Daggerfall work, but I can't do it and neither can my landlord. I don't want to resort to a DOS boot floppy, so, I was hoping there might be an alternative.
If there isn't it's no big, I'll just wait until Morrowind comes out. It's just that it would be fun to know what the "Great Houses" are or have an opinion on what became of the "Dwarves from Tamriel". Right now I just read the threads on Morrowind and wish I could contribute. Thanks for your help.

To be honest with you, Morrowind is going to be so different from the previous Elder Scrolls games that it's not really going to matter. It's also an entirely new story line as well. |

I got Redguard to work under XP... it's worth a try, although life can become difficult there if you solve some quests too early...

Uhhh... good question. You can get it to run without 3DFX (I ditched my last 3DFX card a long time ago), but it just doesn't look too pretty in software rendering mode. Still, it looks better than Daggerfall did .

Thanks! I think I saw Redguard in my landlord's game bookcase, I'll give it a try. |

You should be able to get a glide wrapper to run in 3dfx mode. |
