Shattered Light Online Revealed

This unassuming 2d tiled indie RPG might not have caught my attention had it not been for an apparent association between the developers and the 'Might & Magic' franchise. Ensign Games website shows a boxshot of a M&M III, IV & V set with a bonus "Swords of Xeen" logo on the front - an official addon for M&M V. Unfortunately their website has almost zero additional information on Shattered Light, other than this intro:

Shattered Light is a 2D Online and Single Player RPG Game. Host and create your own worlds. Very low system requirements to play.

Shattered Light's multiplayer feature allows you to play with up to 64 players online. You can modify other player's characteristics and attributes on the fly when you host the game on your machine!

Shattered Light's easy-to-use world builder technology lets you create your own worlds with easy to use editor. Write your own quests! Create your own magic weapons! Modify all character statistics, spells, skills, riddles, and more. Write your own NPC dialog! Fully customize your game. Expand the fantasy world with more than 4,000 terrain tiles.
You can grab the 225Mb demo/trial here.

Well, their other game is "Dream Stripper" so I'm inclined to expect great things from Shattered Light.

Game is not that great, combat is somewhat slow and graphics are outdated, but for fans of Ultima Online there is a chance they will like it.

Looks like this 1999 game has a new owner http://reviews.cnet.com/Shattered_Light_PC/4505-9696_7-30968202-2.html

Hopefully it's been updated some since then.
