I just watched this movie for like the third or fourth time, and I find it magnificent. Especially the music is really great, but I love the whole movie. What do you guys here think about it?

Overall ok, but nothing fancy. The music made most of the movie.

I think it's the best period movie out there. I love the Roman empire. Troy looks to be pretty cool, too.

Overall, Gladiator places in my top 10 movies (movies must be more than two years old to be added to my favorite movie list so the 'oh wow! new! shiny!' effect is worn off.).

1 Star Wars (All 5 collectively.. I love part 1 and 2!)
2. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Part 3 can't possibly bump this down, so...)
3. Aliens (just Aliens. Alien is lower. 3 doesn't hit my top 100. 4 does.)
4. The Crow (only the original. rest are crap.)
5 Transformers: The Movie (heh)
6 Predator
7 Gladiator
8 Terminator 2
9 The Matrix
10 Alien

Nothing particularly thought provoking or awe inspiring or small art-house movie intellectuals only in there. I like my movies big and loud. I like art films, of course, but if I see one on tv running against one of my Ten... no contest.

Half of the movies on your top 10 is on mine too, Xen. It's SW, LotR, The Matrix, Gladiator and Terminator 2, but I can't really set them in a particular order.

Nice movie. I so it once and I liked it.

Just the end was so sad.
(I like good endings...)

I don't think it's bad, since he re-unites with his family again.

I loved it. Like Xen I love movies that take place in the Roman era. Gladiator, Ben Hur, Spartacus, Julius Caesar, and so many more. Great movies!

The Troy movie sure is in one heck of a good age, but the actors... *shrug* not my favourites. We'll see if it becomes any good.

Also, I'm not that well studied in the age of greece, but was the roman empire created before this time?

The Greeks were around before the Romans. If memory serves, the Romans conquered the Greeks.

As for Gladiator, loved it and Russell Crowe. Wink, wink.
Troy looks fun too. Lots of cute guys. hehe
