While I think proper grammar is a nice goal for which to strive, I realize that English is not a simple language to use properly, even for native speakers. My only thought is that nobody living in a glass house should throw stones. A legitimate complaint wouldn't have contained gramatical errors, which means the initial post is little more than confrontational spam.

God no. That would take much too long. I just hit http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=theword and read the response. Takes but five seconds.

"Noone" would have been the correct choice, but I thought "nobody" was the appropriate choice.

If the Grammer Fairy reappears there are going to be the opportunity to sample a Bloody Fairy at every pub. A delightful concoction more appealing to the palate than a Bloody Mary, and a lot more fun to make.

It didn't contain errors, dte! Yes, "commit" is better, but "do" isn't wrong either.

I have to agree that "do" just doesn't fit in there - I think I'd have put "make" instead. I'd also have said "grammatical errors", clarified "users" with "users here", and written "there are" or "there're" instead of "there's".

Now, isn't that better?

Lintra plunks down a sales booth. It look much like the lemonade sales stands in Peanuts, but the sign is "Wings and Things".

Lintra starts hawking his goods calling out "Get yer grammer fairy wings here! Hardly used! Spelling wands at half price! Adverb dust just in - Get this rare dust now! Don't delay, you too can become a grammer fairy for just a small investment!"

*grin*

I wanted to give every one the chance to be a grammer fairy

@Toaster - I would've suggested "It is *just* Lintra"

@Lintra:
Isn't it a bit strange way to talk in a thread like this...?

@Toaster:
I Said: "WHAT is that?", Not "WHO is that?"

I know you said 'what', but as Lintra said, would you understand it better if I had written "It's just Lintra..." ?

Is it? Since this is a forum about role playing games, I occasionally like to spin a little story. Sometimes the other posters play along ... some times not! But it can lead to some fun stories every now and then. *Lintra shrugs* I hope you were not offended by the style ... It wasn't meant to be offensive - just silly (in the best Monty Python meaning of the word).

Speaking of which, how come Pinnen hasn't been posting in AOT recently? I miss his wit here!

No, of course I wasn't offended. I meant that it's just strange... BTW: It's not silly, it's funny . Also, maybe it's not a right place to post this, but what does your name mean?

BTW: This thread became a poll!
