| Gothic 2 NOTR English Speech Addon Download |
|
Ripped from english retail. Took me alot of time to figure out how to make it smaller than it was. You need NOTR installed to use this addon (of course).

seens the addon still hasnt been releasted in the uk and US jowood aint directly makeing money on thoses places so i cant see what the problem should be after all they only get them selfs to blame
by the way dont see a need to re-up it to a better server .. dl'ing at 175kB/s as we speak

I started a new game and played for only a few minutes, but Xardas' and Cavalorn's dialogs were in english.
There is still german voices in the one cutscene I saw......the one about Raven.
I followed the readme and had to remove the Speech_Addon.vdf from the Data folder.(I did'nt delete it, just moved it somewhere.)
Now I wonder how to remove the text translations

I can imagine that you would just use the translation mod for that, right?
The English speech may not match up to the subtitles, but those can be turned off I am sure...

english speech dont match up to subtitles even in retail version and they forget to translate few sentences like when you go to lares and tell him lets go in subtitles its written down in german ... maybe it was like that in original gothic 2 |

i've just finished repacking the speech files along whit the translation mod and a working version of switch (for some reason the one in the pack would only take 700 files at a time)
once its done uploading it'll be at Edited by Gorath. Read page 4.
but it'll still be about half an hour seens my uploading is somewhat slow right now
and dont worry

Okay, let me be the 2nd person to confirm that your instructions work pretty_ugly!!!
After converting all the mp3s to wavs (in batches of 500 at a time), I simply copied them to the appropriate place and it worked!
I am now replaying the addon with your uploaded English speech and text courtesy of the translation mod.
Awesome! Thank you very much...
This will be my second go at the addon. I held out replaying until I could get full English so now I am ready to do my pure mage adventure!!!

Yes I did move that file ( based on your original note) before copying the WAVs over. Sorry for not mentioning that. My guess is that it looks in the VDF archive first for the file .. and if its not there .. it looks in the REAL file system for the override (which are the WAV files we copied).
..Also ...the addon intro movie was still in German, just as you had experienced.
