After some thinking, how about a forum for oldies. That way the Fallout, M&M etc questions and discussions would all be grouped in one place?
The only problem with such a forum, that I can see, is that it would be active on an a sporadic fashion. Bursts of activity followed by periods of quiescence. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

Oldies but Goodies: CRPGs from the 80s and 90s?
Well, I like it, but it still falls in the realm of CRPGs General. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

@Val - yes but it would be a subset. If I see an unread topic in CRPG General I might not check it out if my time was limited, but if it appeared under "Oldies but Goodies" I would definately go there. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

@Val, what I meant was ther should be a forum for upcomig CRPG, and the current one should stay for the already released.

how about a whole 'star wars' forum. i mean, like there are 6 gothic forums, in one subject. we can do the same with star wars, as there are many star wars games. (not all rpg's but there are 2 rpg's, glaxies and KotoR _________________ Always wondering how it would be... |

I think we're planning to get a KoTOR forum open soon.
@Lady A: So you'd like to see the CRPG General forum split?
CRPG General
-Discuss everything and anything about current CRPGs
Coming to a Computer Near You...
-Discuss the buzz around upcoming CRPGs
Oldies but Goodies
-Discuss, shares memories and offer advice on the CRPGs of yester-year
This what you guys are thinking? _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I wouldn't mind a Deus Ex forum (for the original, sequal and various mods). Or perhaps a forum for modding in general (though I'm not sure that would have much demand here, the furthest I've got into modding is dabbling in the NWN toolset) _________________

I'm not convinced about the oldies forum. How are you going to decide when a game is an oldie and when not? I forsee a continuous moving of topics from one forum to the other, might be confusing. _________________ Kewl quotes:

Simple. If Lintra likes it then it's a golden oldie.
Sorry...
Not sure about this idea myself but how about some non-game forums like a Sci-fi (books, movies, whatever) or Middle-Earth forums? _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

Dhruin, those topics are available through the usergroups, like WWW. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Considering the amount of posts the Middle-Earth usergroup had, that might not be a good idea... _________________ "Tree stuck in cat. Firemen baffled."--Simcity 3K

Well, yes. An open forum is more likely to encourage participation, though. It was just an idea I tossed out - I didn't say I put a lot of thought into it! _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

I would love to see a forum on RPGDot for console RPGs. I enjoy console and CRPGs equally. Other sites offer console forums, but the conversations tend to be immature. I would hope that a console forum on RPGDot would attract members more interested in discussion than flaming. _________________ Apologize, v.i. To lay the foundation for a future offense.

I think it will be cool to have a General Books and Movie forum.
I know there's usergroups like WWW, but this forum will mainly be for people to talk about the books/movie they have seen or read. And it will be an open forum for anyone to participate in. |
