Technical - level-up attribute multipliers |
|
In a faq I learned that the multiplier is computed for each attribute when you level up using N/2 rounded down, where N is the nbr of Major or Minor skill point increases governed by the attribute.
e.g. If Alchemy is a major skill and Security is a minor skill, and I increase Alchemy by 3 and Security by 4, the multiplier for Intelligence when I level up will be (4+3)/2 = 3
My question - what if I also gained a skill point in my miscellaneous skill of Conjuring (also governed by Intelligence). Would my multiplier by (4+3+1)/2 = 4 ?? anybody know for sure?
I was informed that when your miscellaneous skills go up, no matter by how much, you only get a multiplier of 2 on the governing attribute. e.g. I trained one skill point in miscellaneous skill Spear, so when I level up I will have a 2x multiplier in Endurance.
a thousand thanks,

Any skill increase, major minor or misc, counts toward the attribute bonus. There is no cap on misc increases- that rumor your heard is bogus.
The award range is:
0 skill increases -> 1 point
1-4 increases -> 2 points
5-7 -> 3 points
8,9 -> 4 points
10+ -> 5 points
One implication of that is that getting 11 skill increases governed by the same attribute is wasteful. You're better off to gain a level after 10 and save that 11th increase for the next level. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Small (but probably unnecessary!) word of warning: patch the game. If you're running the original release (1.1) you'll find that while improving Misc skills by using them give you level-up bonuses, training them won't.
Another warning - Endurance is very, very useful. I'd definitely consider having Heavy or Medium Armour as a major skill. On level up you gain a number of hit points equal to 10% of your Endurance attribute, so the greater your Endurance, the greater your hit points. It's definitely worthwhile getting Endurance up to 100 as a priority.
If you don't want to do this, at least be born under the sign of The Lady - it'll give you a +25 initial bonus. _________________ Charlie Dobbie

The best is ta have Endurance & Luck as primary attributes. Also Athletics & acrobatics as minor\major is usually very helpful to increase strength. |
