I think that the Gothic ppl should make a comercial for Gothic in the US. It seems evryone here who knows about Gothic LOVES it. But few ppl here know about it so if they did it would be very succesful and worth the price of the comercial. This is what i think.  |

I think overall that's true. PB should aggressively advertising Gothic 2, although at the same they maybe have financial constrains to do this. If not, they should advertises it through every TV channels, interrupt every programs every 10 minutes, put up a large billboards belong most highways in U.S (especially near traffic light junctions), and huge amounts of pop-up and pop-under advertisements on internet, etc etc.

Actually, I think it's JoWood's responsibility to promote Gothic 2. They are the publisher.

The must do a better job then with gothic. It's a same that almost nobody knows about gothic.

I'm afraid there won't be any different with Gothic 2 in term of advertising campaign. Looks at other games that already published by same publisher of Gothic 2; Zax, Swine, Aquanox, Panzer Elite, and even more recent Arx Fatalis. I also think all only had mediocre success, at least no massive success on certain titles. There's just not much exposure compare to games by bigger publishers . I bet if Gothic 2 is under big publisher, the scenario would be different. But still, the result would be different, since Gothic 2 already had player base or numerous fans, and word of mouth still could spreads wide enough among gamer comunities.

hehe that advertize thing is JoWooDs problem and i am sure they will advertize this game in many places cos this game is something else than just a game |

Well, JWood SHOULD have a heftier budget for Gothic 2. After all Gothic is now a brand, has a following, has proven itself and they've already made money from Gothic 1.

I am not sure G2 will be in every gamer's house, since until now - less than two month from G2's release date, there is still not much publicity. Just look at games such as NWN or even smaller game like IWD2, i think there's more reports on this games than G2 overall on most gaming sites.
