Divine Divinity - Revisited

I picked up Divine Divinity a few years back when it first came out. Back then I thought it was awesome. But for some reason, I stopped playing it before completing it. My character was around L30. It may have been the fact that I had a new baby in the house, or perhaps it was another game that got me distracted.

Anyway, with the release of Beyond Divinity I decided to re-play Divine Divinity again from the beginning before moving on to Beyond Divinity.

And I have to say, this game is really quite awesome. I almost cannot believe how little reknown it has. The game combines the best elements for Ultima VII, Arx Fatalis, Diablo II and even some aspects from Morrowind.

Anyway, I'm having a blast. In just 2 days I'm already level 20 again and just thoroghly enjoying this beautiful gem of a game. It is quite possible that the memories of playing Divine Divinity may actually surpass those of Ultima VII - it's that good.

For those of you who are perhaps inbetween games or are just biding their time in the current vacuum of CRPGs, pull out Divine Divinity again. YOu won't be sorry.

As I said in my review, it's what Ultima 8 should have been.
