Are the various books you find and buy any use? I know that "The Bloodflies" gets you the ability to remove bloodfly stings, any others that help? Also, having read a book, can I sell it or do I need to keep it to retain the effect?

I went into the Old Camp with Chaf (the chef that cooks bug soup), sneaked into his tent, stole his recipe book, what good does this do?
