x64 or not
   

I agree that topic is confusing and complex, especially when people are mixing 32bit shader precision together with 64bit memory addressing and topping it all off with 256bit memory

The only way, I guess, we will know if x64 is benefitful for games is when CPU/GPU bound calculations will require 2^32 numbers and/or above 4Gb memory. Will it happen next year-two? I don't think so. For now there is FarCry in 64bit http://www.tomshardware.com/game/20050514/index.html with no improvement over 32bit (game itself takes up 512MB)

Video cards..
   

So far PCI Express holds a neglible advantage over AGP. Just research and you'll find out. Now what is happening is that some cards are coming out that are cheaper for PCI Express such as some ATI chips, IE: X800. I to would like to know if I should wait to upgrade for Oblivion or if I should do it now?
