Great work! I read through everything I could find, and Gothic 3 seems to be nicely shaping into a game most of us will really like. Unfortunately I've never played Splinter Cell or games like that either, so I have no clue whether or not it is good news that the controls are inspired by games like it.

Other than that, it's all good.

Edit: I finally got to read the recordings article. It looks as if Gothic 3 will bring in-game music to new heights. This is most exciting news to me, as music is a vital part in determining the mood in a game. I also have to commend you for your writing, very well written article(and yes, I still remember remember the times you describe as "does anybody have a mouth organ". Can't say I miss the music in those games, hehe).

Also, GothicDot has no link to the Gothic 3 gallary, which may be why a few people can't find it(you either have to go to the gallary main index to find it, or press the screenshot link in your update announcement). You probably already know about it, and my guess is there's nothing you can do about it, but I figured I could post about it at least so anyone reading this will know how to find the Gothic 3 gallary.

People like me, hehe. Don't worry I know where to look know.

Great work, Gorath! I can't wait for the German Games Convention (18-21th of August), hopefully that event brings a lot of info.

I didnīt write the article. Andy from Yiya.de wrote it, Jaz translated it.

We'll hear from the event in some way no matter what, but from a reliable source like RPGdot is always a lot better. Hopefully somebody is able (or allowed) to go after all.

I know now that G3 will be playable at the GC.
What Iīm not sure about is if it will be playable for everybody or only for the press. Both would make sense.

Hmm, anyone know of a cheap way to get there from Norway?

Being able to try G3 out would be amazing, yet would it be wise at this point? It might just make me an addict with no chance of playing it afterwards.

You mean they wouldn't be able to drag you out of the building after the convention?!

...Must play Gothic 3...

I think it's better for me to wait until everything is done and polished, playing an alpha or pre-beta version wouldn't live up to my high expectations.

Indeed a great advice.Do not go even near Germany.

I can surely imagine how they have to drag maylander out of the building by force

Without his daily gothic3 dose he will become mad, so then pb would have no other choise than hire him for their betatesting team

Poor Maylander, he has become a Gothic addict. While me on the other hand, no sir, I'm just playing Gothic for the 3d, no 5th, no 8th, .. I don't count it anymore.

But that's just normal Bartacus, playing the same game more than a dozen times.
