V: TM Bloodlines crashes when using cab

I've just recently started playing 'Vampires: TM Bloodlines' and must say I like it, good atmosphere and chilling quests... but there is a major error that prevents me from playing any further. I can't find anything about it on one of the forums so here it goes:

I pretty much 'finished' all my quests in Santa Monica and now the cab is available to take me downtown. When I talk to the driver he says something like: 'Where to?', then you get a map display of L.A. when I point it at 'Downtown' (the only other available option next to S.M.) and select that one I am transfered back into dialogue mode with the driver and the game crashes to the desktop displaying this error:

"Can't Change levels while in dialogue mode!"

And that's it.. no more game. Does anyone know what to do to fix this bug?

My computer meets system req. and I have the lastest patch (1.2) from Activision for this game.

Hrm... try installing the unofficial patch. You can find it here.

Also, you can try increasing your swap file.

There should also be a crash log in the directory for the game. It might have some hints about what's causing the crash, like low memory or the like. Try looking at that as well.
